Through the Namibian aid organization HANO, the association became acquainted with the Khomasdal primary school. During the visit, we learned from headmaster Bonny Matengu and the teachers about the difficulties associated with the dilapidated fence surrounding the school grounds:
  1. Unwanted persons have the opportunity to enter the school grounds.
  2. There has been an increase in vandalism and burglaries at night.
  3. Women and girls no longer feel safe on the premises.
  4. Students can leave the school grounds unnoticed during class time.
  5. and much more.
Therefore, the teaching staff, together with the parents' representatives and the Namibia Support Association, submitted an application for a €10,000 grant to the German Schmitz Foundation, which was approved. The Namibia Association and the school itself are also contributing additional funds to the foundation's money.
Construction of this fence began in January 2020 and is now mostly complete.
