Zaunprojekt GS Khomasdal
The association got to know the Khomasdal primary school through the Namibian aid organisation HANO. During the visit, we learned from headmaster Bonny Matengu and the teachers about the difficulties associated with the leaky fence around the school premises:
- Unwanted persons have the opportunity to enter the school premises.
- There is an increase in destruction and break-ins at night
- Women and girls no longer feel safe on the premises
- Students can leave the school premises unnoticed during class time.
- and much more.
Therefore, the teaching staff, together with the parents' representatives and the Namibia Support Association, submitted an application to the German Schmitz Foundation for a grant of €10,000, which was approved. The Namibia Association and the school itself are contributing a lot to the foundation's money.
This fence was started in January 2020 and is now largely finished.
