The club has had its own club account in Namibia for three years now, which Vehepa Akwenye She manages the transfers and handles the domestic money transfers from there. This was only possible for a foreign institution with her as the contact person and responsible individual on site.

Since last year, it has been supported Christof Kisting The association. He studied for his Master of Law and Business in Hamburg on a scholarship and received private support from association members during his final months in Germany. After a lengthy search, he found a very interesting job in Tsumeb as "Tsumeb Community Trust Administrator." In this role, he invests foundation funds from the Tsumeb Mine in small social, educational, and environmental projects, primarily in and around Tsumeb, to improve the living conditions of the local people. In his free time, he has volunteered to coordinate and further develop the projects of our association.
Unfortunately, Tsumeb lives about 5 hours away from Okombahe. However, since he is very organized and can handle a lot of things by phone after an initial meeting, we are very grateful for his commitment. He receives a small stipend from the association for his mostly voluntary work.
On last year's trip, Joachim Knoche met Naftaline Hiiko I know her from Omaruru, which is "only" 70km from Okombahe. She is a teacher at the local secondary school and is happy to support the association on an hourly basis. Since Omaruru is the closest shopping area for the people of Okombahe, there are natural points of contact. In the future, she will visit many of the 50 students in the student dormitories 2-3 times a year, be available to them as a contact person, and mediate in case of problems with the projects.
Thanks to Christof, Naftaline, and Vehepa, the association has three Namibians on the ground who significantly relieve the burden on the board and the entire committee. Their local knowledge allows for faster and more appropriate responses, eliminating the need to wait for the next German delegation to visit Namibia.
Nevertheless, it's beneficial for club members to visit specific projects once or twice a year to support and further develop them. With this in mind, a small group trip with the chairman and eight other people from the surrounding area will take place again this August.
